Cancellation Policy

At Pura Noche, we understand that travel plans can change. This cancellation policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and respectful for both guests and hosts.


1. Reservations & Advance Payments

Reservations can be made directly (website or WhatsApp) or through third-party platforms.

For direct reservations, an advance payment is required to secure the booking:

  • 25% advance payment for regular season

  • 50% advance payment for holiday and peak dates

Payment methods may include credit/debit cards, SINPE Móvil, or other available options. Card refunds and processing times may vary depending on each bank.


2. Guest Cancellations – Direct Reservations

Cancellations 30 Days or More Before Check-in

  • Guests are eligible for a full refund of the advance payment, or

  • A free date change, subject to availability


Cancellations Between 8 and 29 Days Before Check-in

  • Guests may opt for a partial refund of the advance payment

  • The refundable amount will depend on the specific date and season


Last-Minute Cancellations (7 Days or Less Before Check-in)

  • Considered last-minute cancellations

  • Guests will receive only 30% of the advance payment

  • The remaining amount is non-refundable


External services and conditions beyond our control do not automatically qualify for refunds.


3. Holiday & Peak Season Dates

Holiday and peak season dates include, but are not limited to:

  • Christmas

  • New Year

  • Semana Santa

  • Costa Rican national holidays and long weekends

For these dates:

  • Last-minute cancellations are non-refundable

  • Advance payments are not returned

  • Date changes are subject to availability and are not guaranteed


4. Date Changes

  • One free date change is allowed for direct reservations if requested at least 30 days before check-in

  • Date changes are subject to availability

  • Changes requested with less notice may not be accepted


5. Host Cancellations

If Pura Noche must cancel a reservation due to force majeure (weather conditions, maintenance issues, or unforeseen circumstances), guests will be offered:

  • A full refund, or

  • A partial refund based on unused nights, or

  • The option to reschedule the stay, depending on the situation


6. Refund Method & Processing Time

  • Refunds will be processed using the same payment method, whenever possible

  • Refund processing time is typically 3 to 5 business days, but may vary due to banks or third-party services

  • Any bank fees, platform fees, or transaction commissions required to process a refund through a different method must be assumed by the guest


7. No-Show & Early Departure Policy

  • No-shows are non-refundable

  • Early departures or unused nights are not refundable


8. Third-Party Platform Reservations

Reservations made through platforms such as Airbnb or Vrbo are governed exclusively by the cancellation policies of each platform. Guests must review and accept those policies when booking.


9. Policy Acceptance

By confirming a reservation, the guest acknowledges and agrees to this Cancellation Policy.
